Trust God

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight."    Proverbs 3:5-6

As we go into the new year, it is a time where many people make resolutions to change things in their lives. Whether it be to start up a new workout routine or spend more time with the kids . . . this is the time of year when new resolutions are made. While there are a plethora of changes we can make to improve our daily lives, one of the most important things we should resolve to do not only at the beginning of every year, but each and every day, is to trust God.

Trusting God is what will give you hope in the midst of despair. Trusting God is what will get you through in a down economy. Trusting God is what will cause you to succeed when others are failing. Trusting God is what will enable you to rise above every trial that you encounter in your daily life! These verses in Proverbs tell us the way we trust God is by fully relying on Him and His Word, instead of on what we think. Rev. Kenneth Hagin Sr. used to say it this way-"Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own head." When we do that, the Lord promises He will guide and direct our paths.

The key to those verses is in the amount of trust you place in God versus the amount of trust you place in your own understanding, thinking, and planning. The Lord instructs us to trust in Him with ALL of our hearts; not with part of it or half of it, but with all of it! Placing anything other than all of your trust in Him can lead to confusion or misguidance, but giving God all of your trust leads to nothing but Divine direction in each step you take.

So determine this year to start relying on the Lord in all things. Determine to stop doing things the way you think they ought to be done, and instead start thinking like God thinks. When you do that, God will be able to lead you, He will be able to direct you, and He will be able to guide you into His perfect plan for your life.
