He Watches His Word
"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it." - Isaiah 55:10-11 NASB
In today's world, you do not have to live very long to figure out that not everyone in life tells the truth. Not everyone means what they say, in fact, some people will say anything whether or not they actually mean it or not. To put it plainly, people are not always honest or trustworthy, but the great news for the Christian is that we serve a God who carries both of those qualities! Even though we live in a world that for the most part does not tell the truth or keep it's word, we don't have to let that discourage us. Because you and I have a God who never lies. He is always faithful! He always keeps His word!
God promises His words that He speaks will not fail in accomplishing what He said they would do. His Words cannot return to Him empty or void. That means, if His Word declares it and promises it to you, you can expect it to come to pass in your life, if you will simply believe it. God's words can never fail!
In the Bible, when the Lord called Jeremiah, He spoke to him about the future of his ministry. He reassured Jeremiah that His words would surely come to pass just as He declared them. Jeremiah 1:12 says, "Then the LORD said to me, 'You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.'” I like that! The Lord is watching over everything He has said! He never forgets. He is never incapable. He always comes through because He carefully watches His word to perform it and make it good in your life! If you will simply trust Him and believe Him, then you will watch Him perform what He has promised you!
