Which Way To Go

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."     Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB

Have you ever tried to drive somewhere without consulting a map or GPS and gotten lost? Even though you know what your final destination is, it will not help if you are unsure which way to go in order to get there. Following directions can get you where you want to go much more quickly than trying to figure it all out on your own. In our lives it works the same way. We can try to figure everything out in our own little brain, stumbling our way through, or we can learn to depend on our Heavenly Father. The Word of God tells us a way that we can be led in each step we take.

Proverbs 3:5-6 explains how to be directed and guided in our lives. First and foremost we must trust in the Lord. If you want to rise above the difficulties life brings, then you must learn to fully rely on God in all things. Trust that His ways are higher, His thoughts are deeper, and that He knows how to bring you safely through each situation you face. The second step ties in with the first, we must refuse to lean on or depend on our own thinking. It is impossible to trust God and be dependent upon your own thinking because God is much bigger than what our thoughts can contain. If we go through life relying on the tunnel vision of our own understanding we are limited to natural solutions; but when you learn to depend on God and His Word, He unlocks the doors to the supernatural and will do things that you never thought possible. Never limit our limitless God by the small box of what you can understand!

Proverbs 5:6 says in the Amplified Bible, “He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]”. I like that! If you follow His direction, He will remove all the things in life that try to hinder your path! God will direct your steps! When you trust the Lord and lean on Him, He will lead, guide, and direct every step you take!
