God Will Fight For You

"But Moses said to the people, 'Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today . . . The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.'"    Exodus 14:13-14

After being freed from Egyptian bondage, Moses and the Israelites began the journey to the Promised Land. However, Pharaoh changed his mind soon after and decided he wanted the Israelites to return to Egypt and remain his slaves. The Israelites had the Red Sea before them and the army of Pharaoh behind them. It seemed they were pinned in on every side with nowhere to turn. They looked at what was surrounding them and began to gripe and complain about the dire situation they were in. When Moses heard the complaints of the people, he said, "The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent."

I believe those are words that every Christian should grasp. Dont complain about the lack of finances you have. Don't talk about the sickness you are facing. Don't tell everyone you meet about how somebody did you wrong. Constantly speaking about the problems you are facing makes the devil happy. It hinders God from being able to work on your behalf and leaves you pinned between your problems like the Israelites were. Instead, take heed to Moses' advice for the children of Israel. Keep your mouth quiet and let God do the fighting for you.

Once the people stopped complaining about the problem, God moved. Moses lifted his hand over the great sea before them and the Lord moved the waters to create a pathway for the Israelites to walk through safely to the other side. Learn to stay quiet. Keep your mouth from complaining. Begin to trust the Almighty. When you do that, God will move the problem waters in your life just like He did for Israel! You can walk safely through to the other side where the Promised Land awaits!
