Put On The Armor

Posted by Rev. Brittany Smith
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. "

Are you ready for the battle? If you are a Christian you need to be prepared to fight against the enemy! Once you accept Jesus into your heart and life, you enlist in the army of the Lord. This battle we engage in is not between any natural forces, but instead is against the spiritual forces of darkness. Satan is bent on hindering the plans and purposes of God in our lives. Therefore, we must learn to use the spiritual weapons God has made available to us to defeat the enemy at every turn!

In our lives, we have many battles to fight. We encounter battles against fear, battles against sickness, battles against anger, or whatever it is the devil tries to put in our way to stop us. But refuse to let the battle get the better of you! Fight the good fight! The good news for Believers is Jesus has already won the war! He destroyed the powers of darkness. He trampled the devil and his cohorts under His feet, and gave us the keys of victory!

Stand firm and refuse to live a defeated life! We don't have to live in poverty, sorrow, hatred, or fear. Because of Jesus, we can live free! Yes, you might encounter a few enemies in life. There might be some battles to fight, but never let the current battle you are fighting cause you to step into fear and accept defeat. When things around you look grim, look up. Remember the One who is the Victor in life and over death. Remember who the great General is. His name is Jesus Christ, and He has supplied the army of God with all the weaponry necessary to defeat the enemy at every turn. There is no ploy, no plan, no plot of the Devil that can outsmart God. Stay strong in the Word of the Lord. Keep yourself fully girded in God's armor. Stand firm and watch the salvation of the Lord!

Love,
